The Iona School Parent and Toddler Group in Nottingham is a nurturing place for mothers, fathers, grandparents and carers to enjoy with their children from newborn to three and a half years.

The group provides a space for adults to meet, find support and bond with their children, who in this way learn to be part of a social environment.

Each session has a regular rhythm. During the first hour children can play imaginatively with simple wooden toys amongst comfy floor cushions and rugs.  There’s also a cosy den to hide in. If the children are settled, parents may wish to engage in a craft activity or simply relax with a cup of tea.

Then we gather around the table for our snack with fruit, rice cakes and jam and sometimes freshly baked bread or cake.

After that it is time to sit in a circle on the floor with songs, rhymes and a story with puppets.

The rhythm of the year; with its seasons and festivals, is followed and celebrated in the craft activities, songs and stories.

The Parent and Toddler Group is held during term time on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings

(9.30am – 11.30am), £3 per session.
