Dear Parents and Friends,

For nine years Cristina Cooke has been welcoming parents and their young children to the Iona School for the Parent and Child Group sessions. During this time Cristina has deepened her understanding of this important task and through her dedication many parents have been helped to improve their parenting skills, having been shown something of what young children really need to experience in order to build a strong foundation for their future development. Through Cristina’s work many parents have found their way to Steiner Waldorf Education who otherwise would not have done so.

With further qualifications to her name, Cristina has decided to broaden her experience of working with young children and from September she will be working as part of the Kindergarten team for three days each week. Sadly, this means that Cristina will be unable to continue with her work in the Parent and Child Group.

The College has decided that until someone is recruited to continue this work, the Tuesday morning session will be suspended. However, the Wednesday morning parents group will continue under the care of Nicola Dixon, as it has been for the last year.

On behalf of the College, Parents and Trustees I would like to thank Cristina for her hard work, warmth of soul and devotion to the task of providing a haven of peace for so many children. She has cared for the physical environment for the sessions in an exemplary manner whilst at the same time imbuing the space with that mood of reverence which is essential to the wellbeing of our young children.

We wish Cristina all best wishes for her future work.
