Dear all

As many of you know, every year Iona School supports the local charity, Basket Brigade Nottingham.  It is a 100% volunteer run project delivering had select gifts and luxury goodies to people nominated by their community for a bit of extra love at the Festive Season.

As ever, some very moving nominations have been made; young carers, caring for one and sometimes two disabled or poorly parents and women fleeing from domestic violence.  Getting a wonderful hamper to let them know they are not alone can be the difference between despair and hope.

You can help!

***We need people for 1 hr TODAY after school to set up tables in the Hall and carry the stuff out of cars and in…

Come on the day!

Or donate a gift for a child or adult – wrapped is ideal – with a removable label saying the age and type of present it is to make sure we deliver it to the right person!

You can drop presents off tomorrow in the Hall.

Children are welcome – It’s a highlight for many and a wonderful way the children see that the “giving” side of the Festive Season is also great fun!! (They remain your responsibility at all times of course!)

Thank you in advance on behalf of the thrilled faces at the door when their delivery arrives!

Best wishes

Come and support The Basket Brigade Nottingham at Iona School this Saturday 12th December, 10 – 4pm, Iona School hall

Dear all

Every year Iona School generously supports Basket Brigade Nottingham and this year it is needed more than ever.

We are supporting two special causes this year; Young Carers and Asylum Seekers.

There are 250 young Carers in Nottm, children aged from 10 years who care for disabled or seriously poorly parents. We would like to give as many as we can a big Thank You from their community.

There are FOUR ways you can help:

1 Donate a gift of food (no alcohol or perishables) which you can leave in our box in Reception… (Why not pass the information on to people at your work place & bring everyone’s gifts in this week!)

2 Donate a present for an adult or any age child – please wrap & put a label saying what it is and/or the age/gender it’s appropriate for (which we can remove)

3 Donate CASH via www.localgiving.com/indigobraveland
And GIFT AID your money!!

4 Come and volunteer on Saturday 12th December, 10 – 4pm, Iona School hall. Even an hour at anytime is helpful – and it’s great fun! Sign up at: www.Facebook.com/basketbrigadenottingham

Notts TV are coming on Saturday to film, which is also great publicity for the school!

Many, many thanks for supporting the Basket Brigade Nottingham again this year.

Much love
Laila & the Basket Brigade
