Class 2/3 children ran 1 mile at school today to raise money for Umunandi. They did amazingly well and were beautifully supported by the rest of the class.

Well done everyone!!!!! We are all proud of you.

UMUNANDI -‘friends’ is Iona School’s chosen charity.

Iona School has made a commitment to sponsoring two boys, Daniel and Malpalo, at the Green Park School in Zambia, Africa for the rest of their school life.

15. June 2016 · Comments Off on SWSF kite mark of quality awarded to the Iona School Nottingham · Categories: Independent schools Nottingham, Inspection, Iona School Alumni, Nature, Play, Steiner education, The Land at Iona School, The Learning Land Project

The Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship is delighted to award its first Quality mark to the Iona Steiner School, Nottingham. This Quality Mark adds to the recognition gained through the judgement of “Outstanding” Iona received from its recent formal inspection. The SWSF Quality Mark, however, is intended to signal qualities over & above those indicated by regulatory inspection. The mark recognises the school’s ongoing work to maintain & develop further its high standards of education & care for children & young people. It takes into account innovation based on key Steiner principles and those things that make Waldorf education distinctive. We are pleased to be able to acknowledge the practical way the school works with combined classes, the good use of the outdoor space in an urban setting & the considerable contribution made by the school & staff members to the fellowship of schools.
