On behalf of the management team at The Iona School, we wanted to make you aware of the outcomes from a recent Ofsted inspection which took place on 4 – 6 December 2018.

We are disappointed with the overall judgement of ‘Requires Improvement’. However, we acknowledge the important role of formal inspections and welcome the honest and informed feedback which will be used to drive our school’s improvement.

The majority of areas where improvement is required relate to the way in which the school evidences good work and we are already taking steps to address this.

However, the Iona School is pleased that the “personal development, behaviour and welfare” of its pupils has been highlighted as “good”.

The Iona School is confident of meeting the required Ofsted standards for monitoring pupil progress. A substantial amount of work has been completed in this area since the inspection.

The full results of the inspection can be accessed here: IONA SCHOOL OFSTED REPORT 2018. We urge you to read through the entire report.
