IONA SCHOOL CLOSES ITS DOORS - 20TH SEPTEMBER 24
Community Life
Our son's experience at Iona School has been nothing short of transformative. He began his journey at the tender age of nine months in the nurturing environment of the nursery, progressing seamlessly through kindergarten at three. By six, he embarked on his main school years, where he thrived under the exceptional guidance of Mr. Robert Strafford and the dedicated college of teachers.
The Steiner Waldorf education offered at Iona School has had a profound impact on our son's development. The curriculum, rich in creative and artistic expression, fostered his natural curiosity and love for learning. He wasn't just memorising facts; he was actively engaged in the process of discovery, building a strong foundation for critical thinking and lifelong learning.
More importantly, Iona School nurtured our son's social and emotional well-being. The emphasis on imaginative play, storytelling, and connection with nature instilled in him a sense of wonder and respect for the world around him. Today, he stands tall as a confident, polite, and well-mannered young man – a testament to the values that Iona School so passionately promotes.
There is no doubt that Iona School has laid the groundwork for our son to become an amazing adult. The school's focus on fostering well-rounded individuals with a strong sense of self, compassion for others, and a creative approach to life is truly invaluable.
We are incredibly grateful to the entire Iona School community – the teachers, staff, and fellow parents – for the positive impact they have had not just on our son, but on our entire family. Iona School is more than just an educational institution; it's a nurturing haven that fosters a sense of belonging and connection.
Thank you, Iona School, for the lifelong gift you have given our son.
Sincerely,
Nick and Louise Cox

We usually hold Open Days once a month when parents/carers are able to look around our school, meet staff and children, and learn more about what we offer.
During the summer holiday 2024, we will be hosting fortnightly Open Mornings 9.30- 11 am on following dates :
Thursday 18th July
Wednesday 31st July
Wednesday 14th August
Wednesday 28th August

As an alternative, if parents are unable to attend our planned Experience Visits, we would be delighted to host a one-to-one walk around for prospective parents in term time or in the holidays. Visiting in term time enables parents and children to see the vibrant energy and culture of the school, but your host, our land and classrooms also tell a great story.
